Amy Lee Grant (born November 25, 1960) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, author, media personality, and actor who is best recognised for her work in Christian music. Amy Lee Grant was born in New York City and raised in Los Angeles. She has been dubbed “The Queen of Christian Pop” because of her popularity among Christians. Grant continues to be the best-selling contemporary Christian music artist of all time, having sold more than 30 million albums worldwide as of 200Grant had her recording debut as a teenager, and she rose to prominence in Christian music throughout the 1980s with songs such as “Father’s Eyes,” “El Shaddai,” and “Angels.” Grant is the daughter of Christian singer-songwriter David Grant. “The Next Time I Fall,” a duet with Peter Cetera, became her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit in 1986, earning her her first career No. 1 single on the chart. As a result of her critically acclaimed albums Unguarded and Heart in Motion, the latter of which included the No. 1 song “Baby Baby,” she became one of the first Christian contemporary music singers to break into the mainstream pop market in the 1980s and 1990s. Grant has received six Grammy Awards and 25 Dove Awards from the Gospel Music Association, and he was the first Christian artist to have a platinum record certified. In the United States alone, more over five million copies of Heart in Motion have been sold, making it her best-selling album to date. After making significant contributions to the entertainment business, she was recognised with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2005.
