Donald Trump certainly isn’t the first celebrity to run for president (Ronald Reagan, anyone?), but this year, it seems that he’s not the bold-faced name Americans would vote for if other stars were in the race.
Sure, the former Celebrity Apprentice boss may be ahead in the polls for the GOP nomination, but a new survey conducted by Harris Poll reveals that it’s actually conservative Clint Eastwood whom Americans would rather vote for.
When Harris Poll asked 2,039 adults whether the Oscar-winning director or business mogul, 69, would get their vote, 72 percent chose Eastwood, while 28 percent selected Trump.

The 85-year-old Gran Torino star, who has been critical of President Barack Obama (who could forget that empty-chair speech!), does have some political experience behind him, though. He was the mayor of Carmel, Calif., from 1986 to 1988. Trump has not held a political office.
Eastwood and Trump weren’t the only celebrities Harris Poll asked about in its survey. Given the choice between George Clooney and Jeb Bush, 57 percent of survey participants opted for the handsome Tomorrowland actor, while 43 percent chose former President George W. Bush’s younger brother. Hillary Clinton bested media mogul Oprah Winfrey 55 percent to 45 percent, Bernie Sanders had 54 percent to comedian Jerry Seinfeld’s 46 percent, and Ben Affleck earned 59 percent versus Ted Cruz’s 41 percent.
