Kate Mara's Dad Is NOT a Fan of Her Pixie Cut: Find Out What He Said

A haircut only a mother could love?!

Out promoting her upcoming film, Fantastic Four, Kate Mara stopped by Live! With Kelly and Michael on Tuesday, Aug. 4, to dish on her latest badass role as Sue Storm. But while she was there, co-host Kelly Ripa wanted to discuss beauty, too—specifically her fresh pixie cut, which she confessed one person is not a huge fan of.

"I got a lot of nice [comments about the cut, but] I got one sort of negative thing said to me," Mara, 32, began. "I text-messaged my dad the other day saying 'I miss you,' and his response was 'I miss your hair.' So thanks, Dad!"

Despite the reservations of her dad, Timothy J. Mara, who's a part-owner of the New York Giants, Kate loves her breezy 'do. "I don't have to wash it now. I don't have to brush it," actress Rooney Mara's big sister told Ripa and co-host Michael Strahan. "I love it."

Surprisingly, the adorable 'do isn't just causing tension at home. Kate, whose star first rose when she appeared as Heath Ledger's daughter in 2005's Brokeback Mountain, also received slack from Atlanta's Rock 100.5 morning radio host Steven J. Rickman days before. The DJ asked, "Why'd you cut the hair? Your hair was beautiful." Unfazed, the House of Cards alum swiftly replied, "I'm an actress. I have to be a chameleon."
