MC Ren is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, actor, director, and writer.   • He spent his childhood years growing up in Pannes Avenue in Compton, California.
  • Along with his childhood friend MC Chip, MC Ren formed the group named Awesome Crew and they performed at parties and nightclubs.
  • Trying his chances to make money, he joined the Kelly Park Compton Crips, of which rapper Eazy-E would also become a member. However, MC Ren eventually left the alliance and got engaged in drug dealing as he found the latter to be more promising.
  • MC Ren quit drug dealing after there was a raid on MC Chip’s house. MC Ren then started focusing on his musical pursuits.
